Depression

There are options. There is help – and you’ve just found it..

At the Magaziner Center for Wellness we treat heart disease by treating the root cause of the imbalance. Rather than simply prescribing medication to mask the symptoms of an illness or injury, we take a holistic approach, using extensive testing to determine all causes and contributing factors. While medications generally work by suppressing, blocking or disabling normal reactions in the body—a typical example being calcium channel blockers or ACE inhibitors, our natural therapies generally work by facilitating, enabling, and assisting normal physiologic reactions to occur. We create a unique and personalized treatment plan for every patient, based on their individual triggers, detoxification pathways, immunologic factors, nutritional status, lifestyle, lab work results, and more. As a result, our patients experience excellent clinical outcomes and fewer side effects. In short, our treatments work in concert with the body rather than attempting to battle it…just think of us as an ally to your body.

How They Treat It

Traditionally, depression will be treated with prescription antidepressants and possibly therapy. Side effects of antidepressants may include weight gain, nausea, loss of sexual desire/sexual dysfunction, insomnia, blurred vision, constipation, fatigue, dry mouth and more.

How We Treat It

At the Magaziner Center, we treat depression by treating the source of the imbalance. We thoroughly assess each patient’s physical state and look for all possible triggers of depression. Because depression has been linked to imbalances in the brain with regard to specific neurotransmitters, we use an extremely thorough series of tests to determine the levels of these neurotransmitters as well as key amino acids and nutritional deficiencies, chemical toxicities, impaired detoxification and adrenal and hormonal function. We also look for any allergies or food intolerance and a heavy metal excess– all of which can have an effect on brain function.

By determining exactly what is causing the depression, we are then able to treat each trigger appropriately, using natural methods, such as sublingual desensitization, nutritional therapies, chelation therapy, mind-body healing, neurotransmitter therapy and hormone balancing.

Each of these therapies aim to correct the imbalance or problem, rather than simply suppress it. Our goal is to return our patients optimal health, bring an end to symptoms and improve the overall health and wellbeing of our patients.
